Rangers head to Tannadice today in what is another must win game if they want to catch Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Anything but three points against Liam Fox's Dundee United side could be the end of the title race for Michael Beale's men, who trail the Parkhead club by 12 points heading into the crunch match on Tayside. The new Gers boss will still be without Steven Davis, Ianis Hagi, Tom Lawrence, Ridvan Yilmaz, Filip Helander and John Souttar for the trip north.
However Beale did receive some good news earlier this week with Souttar returning to training after a lengthy delay on the sidelines. He also revealed that midfielder John Lundstram had been playing and training with pain killing injections. Although Rangers could keep the same side that started against Celtic Lundstram could be rested for the semi-final against Aberdeen on Sunday.
Beale said: "John Souttar is back in training on Friday which is really positive. Leon King’s doing well, so all of a sudden that looks a lot more positive. We’ve rotated the midfielders a lot because we’ve needed to.
"John Lundstram has been playing and training with injections. We’ve had to ease off a notch on him. He has not been able to do much training between games. He got a whack in the second half (against Celtic) and was still in pain quite a while after the game.
Predicted Rangers XI
Michael Beale does not have any fresh injury worries ahead of the trip to Dundee for the Sunday clash so he could go for the same team that started against Celtic in the derby on Monday. Many Gers fans may opt for a change in the striking position but Beale will be hoping Morelos can convert some chances after missing a couple at Ibrox on January 2.
On his squad heading into the game, Beale said: "Every week it’s about trying to get stronger and better. Since Ben Davies and Connor Goldson have been back together, we’ve looked a lot stronger.
"Borna Barisic has come back in (after World Cup with Croatia) and performed well. In the last month, we’ve seen a young boy in Adam Devine showcasing himself as well so that’s good."
