Gio van Bronckhorst has the opportunity to rotate his squad ahead of the visit of Stirling Albion to Ibrox Stadium on Scottish Cup duty.
But the Dutchman has to balance getting vital game time for players returning from injury and fringe men and not losing momentum.
The Light Blues are still undefeated under Van Bronckhorst but produced a below par performance in the midweek 1-1 draw to Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
There has been a reaction to that display in the north east and this is a chance to restore some confidence in the side against Darren Young's side.
While it offers the opportunity for Rangers to rest some players there is alt he argument that they have just returned from a break and that it’s the regular starters who would benefit more from playing together.
The Ibrox boss will weigh all of that up and decide if the likes of James Sands could do with 90 minutes at Ibrox to help him after arriving in Scottish football.
Leon Balogun and Kemar Roofe are both fit again and will feature while Cedric Itten might even start after returning from his loan spell with Alfredo Morelos soon to be heading off on International duty.
And what about John Lundstram? He doesn’t seem to be trusted in the big games and could
Van Bronckhorst said: “Kemar will be involved as will Leon Balogun. It’s a chance for me to rotate my squad a little bit. It’s always nice when you are able to do that.
“It’s a chance to give players minutes who need them, ones who are coming back from injury or didn’t play so much in the last weeks or months."
Ryan Jack is still out as is Scott Arfield and Steven Davis. “For Ryan, it’s too early,” said Van Bronckhorst.
“Arfield trained a little bit with the team so hopefully he will join us at the beginning of next week and Steve Davis hopefully some time next week as well.”
