Rangers skipper James Tavernier pays touching tribute to Jimmy Bell

RANGERS captain James Tavernier has paid a touching tribute to the club's late legendary kitman Jimmy Bell.

The Gers skipper says Bell was so much more than just the kitman, as he pointed out that he had been at the Ibrox club since before Tav was even born.

Bell passed away today aged 69, as Rangers confirmed this morning.

Bell was a key part of the backroom team ever since joining the club in 1986.

Several key figures at Rangers past and present have paid their respects.

And Tavernier has joined them, insisting he will never forget Bell.

In an emotional tweet, Tavernier said: "Although he was officially a Kitman'. He was much much more than that.

“Few people are synonymous with a football club in the modern day era. He was at Ibrox for longer than I have been alive.

“The beating heart and soul of our club, The hardest worker, The most dedicated, He was Rangers through and through.

“He will always be remembered, He will always be with us, We will never ever forget him!

“I’m truly going to miss you! Rest In Peace My Friend.

“I want to send my condolences and love to the Bell family.”
