Rangers finished their UEFA Youth League campaign with a 6-2 home defeat against Ajax.
The young Light Blues team have been competing in a Group A that mirrors Giovanni van Bronckhorst's senior side in the Champions League. While the teenagers have six points opposed to their more experienced pro's zero, the end result is the same and their elimination at the group stage was confirmed last week after Ajax beat Liverpool following an impressive away win against Napoli.
Their finale at Firhill against the Dutch side who are also at Ibrox tonight did not go their way. Ross McCausland's double had them in level at the break after David Kalokoh had initially put Ajax ahead, and then levelled into first half stoppage time. But the game's big turning point was when Baily Rice was sent off before the half-hour mark and his Rangers teammates were left fighting uphill against a clinical side in no mood for sympathy.

Rafael Sarfo, Chahine Van Bohemen, Rida Chahida and Yoram Boerhout all netted as the Govan club were left with a heavy defeat to leave the competition with.
It's not been a terrible campaign for Rangers despite the disappoinment of not making the next round, finishing third in a group with Ajax, Liverpool and Napoli on six points with two wins over the latter.
Now they will turn their focus back onto the Lowland League, where the Ibrox side currently have a 'B' team competing.
