Rangers player ratings vs Ross County as Malik Tillman and Borna Barisic impress in Ibrox win

Rangers managed to grind out a victory at Ibrox as they keep the pressure up on Celitc and reduce the gap to six points.

Michael Beale's men went ahead after a superbly worked goal that involved Todd Cantwell with his cross met by Malik Tillman - who climbed off the bench for the injured John Lundstram - to nod home. The visitors gave the home fans a real scare as Jordan White headed home from a cross after catching Jon McLaughlin in no man's land as he came to try and claim the cross.

But just over five minutes later the home side restored their advantage thanks to Borna Barisic. The left-back had a pop at goal and his effort took a huge deflection and into the net. It was a big relief around both the players and supporters in the ground as the unbeaten run under the new regime continues with a hard fought home win. It may have not been as fluent as the midweek win over Hearts but the three points will arguably mean even more in this one to Beale and Co. Here's how we rated the home side.

Jon McLaughlin - 5

Another chance between the sticks. Looking to prove he can step up as permanent No1. Big save just after the hour. In no man's land for Jordan White leveller.

James Tavernier - 6

Big block early on to deny County on counter. Huge chance on 20 mins but fired over. Constant threat on the attack. Booked.

Connor Goldson - 6

Up against a big striker in Jordan White.. Did his job and always calm and composed on the ball.

Ben Davies - 6

Always takes the ball from deep to start attack. Looks more confident as the games pass. Solid shift. Booked.

Borna Barisic - 7

Rangers first chance but fired high and wide after excellent build-up. Dangerous delivery after dangerous delivery. Up and down. Scored the winner via the aid of a massive deflection.

Ryan Jack - 6

Back in for Glen Kamara. Seems to be in direct battle with him for starting spot. Did well.

John Lundstram - 3

The top choice in the middle at present but forced off after 10 minutes in a real blow. Remains to be seen what the damage is.

Todd Cantwell - 7

A second taste of Ibrox and third appearance for new club. Inches away from first goal with effort clipping bar. Excellent skill in box and pick out for Tillman to header home. Subbed.

Fashion JR - 7

Key man under the Beale era. Once again showed his threat to the visitors with pace to burn. A constant threat. Booked. Subbed.

Ryan Kent - 6

Full of running and looks to be getting back to his best. A real threat when on the ball. Can skip past players for fun. Crashed a shot off the bar from the edge of the box. Subbed.

Alfredo Morelos - 6

Four goals and two assists in his last three league outings before today but failed to add to his tally. In fine form of late and was once again a real threat here. Subbed.

Subs

Malik Tillman - 8

On after just ten minutes due to Lundstram injury. Brilliant vision and ability. Netted crucial opener for eighth of season.

Glen Kamara - 5

On for the final 30 minutes. Started previous two matches.

Antonio Colak - 3

On in final stages for Morelos as he looks to put pressure on and claim his starting berth back
