It was late heartache for Rangers as they went down to an agonising defeat to RB Leipzig in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final.
But it's still all to play for in the return at Ibrox next Thursday with just one goal separating the teams at the halfway stage.
Angelino's late volley five minutes from time finally broke the blue resistance after Gio van Bronckhorst set up with a back five and kept the Germans at bay.
But in the end they have it all to do in Glasgow – here's now they fared according to Record Sport.
Rangers player ratings
ALLAN McGREGOR: Just when European outing number 102 was going so well for the 40-year-old Angelino rifled home to draw first blood for Leipzig. 6
JAMES TAVERNIER: Skipper made a crucial intervention to deny Angelino. Another big display that sticks a thumb in the eye of those who criticise his defensive capabilities. Booked in stoppage time. 7
CONNOR GOLDSON: Biggest test of Rangers’ European campaign as he came up against French ace Nkunku but coped magnificently. Close with a first half header. 7
JOHN LUNDSTRAM: Van Bronckhorst’s surprise tactical tweak saw the Scouser start at centre of a back five. Clever ploy as it denied Leipzig space to thread killer passes. 7
CALVIN BASSEY: A few nervy moments on the ball but his early blocks on Laimer and Nkunku allowed Rangers to gain a foothold in the game. 7
BORNA BARISIC: Croatian’s misplaced header almost proved disastrous but didn’t let the mistake affect him and settled into a decent display. 6
RYAN JACK: Just the man you want in the middle when concentration and discipline is required. Knew just when to close gaps and to apply pressure. 7
GLEN KAMARA: Still doesn’t quite look like the assured midfield dictator he did last season but did the dirty work to help frustrate the Germans. 6
JOE ARIBO: Struggled to make an impact during first half but gave Rangers the outball they’d been craving when moved up top at half-time. 7
SCOTT WRIGHT: Earned his starting slot after firing Saturday’s Fir Park winner but too often put his team in trouble by gifting away possession. 5
RYAN KENT: Thankless task at times having to spend so much time chasing backwards before the break but given more licence to threaten as Aribo moved up front. Came closest for Gers with shot just after half-time. 6
