Rangers plan fresh transfer talks with big-money target in key position

Rangers will hold further talks with Girona over an £8.5million move for Kim Min-su.

Manager Derek McInnes has repeatedly said Rangers need more choices in wide areas before the transfer window closes next month.

The Rangers Review understands McInnes is due to speak directly with Min-su and other possible targets on Saturday, as negotiations continue.

The 20-year-old has a release clause in his Girona contract. He may have made his last appearance for the Spanish club in Friday night’s defeat by Cordoba.

Min-su is one of three players being seriously considered by Rangers’ recruitment team. Talks have also taken place with other clubs in recent days.

Rangers have signed 11 players so far, but Yokota and Shankland are the only attacking additions. The club paid £2.75million for Japanese winger Daisuke Yokota earlier this month.

A proposed £7million move for Couhaib Driouech fell through after medical concerns emerged.

Rangers could still add another right-sided player and remain interested in signing a striker. Youssef Chermiti’s ACL injury will keep him out for several months, leaving McInnes needing another option in attack now.
