Rangers midfielder Alex Lowry is set to be offered a new deal following his impressive first team debut against Stirling Albion last week.
The Uddingston youngster made a major impact off the bench in the Scottish Cup fourth round tie on Friday night when he enjoyed a dream step up from the 'B' team, climbing off the bench early on as a replacement for Ianis Hagi and netting the opening goal in the 4-0 win at Ibrox.
And now the Scottish Daily Express report Rangers are keen to tie the 18-year-old down on a new and improved deal.
Former Braidhurst High School pupil Lowry is out of contract at the end of next season and, according to the report, Rangers have already held initial talks with the player amid interest from top-flight clubs in England.
It adds: "Rangers are well aware they can't afford to let him run down his contract and leave in a cut-price cross-border deal."
