Rangers-linked midfielder Dan Neil is reportedly in advanced talks with Southampton.
The 24-year-old is a free agent following his exit from Premier League side Sunderland, where he has spent his entire career apart from a brief loan at Ipswich Town.
He has been linked with Rangers since as far back as January but it looks like one that will not be happening.
That is because Sky Sports are claiming Neil is closing in on a move to the Championship.

He is reportedly locked in discussions with Saints, although Championship rivals Wolves and West Ham are also interested and waiting in the wings.
However, a deal taking him to the south coast is thought to be close after Tonda Eckert went all out to sign one of his top targets.
