A teary Graeme Souness has bid his final farewell to Sky Sports.
The Rangers legend worked on his last game as a pundit today as Liverpool faced off against Tottenham.
Souness has worked with Sky for over a decade, and he was clearly emotional as he said his final goodbyes.
He said: “I’ll miss you guys. The guys that people at home don't see behind the scenes. Our makeup girl. I'll miss you all.
“But I have to say that it's been for me, you know, I decided that football management wasn't for me anymore. I had the totally wrong temperament for a personality.
“I was given an opportunity to do this and it's been magnificent. It's just been the most fantastic time for me because you know I love football, I care about football and I worry about it going forward.
“But in Sky’s hands, it's in good hands, safe hands. And I think over the years we've treated the Premier League with great detail not always love, but great detail, and I think we look after football very well.
“But for me personally it's just that I've got the buzz of live football, coming to some fantastic games and some fantastic stadiums and witnessing some great events.
“I think I owe 100 apologies. But I haven't got time for that. To people that maybe I may have said some harsh things, but I think people at home want to see us, not always agree.
“But it's been great guys. It really has and it's great right now to be amongst friends and nothing goes on forever.
“I've got lots of things coming up, I'm involved with my DEBRA charity and 22nd of this month I am going to announce a challenge that I'm getting involved in and that's important to me. But it's been great, so thank you everyone.”
Jamie Redknapp added: “I think on behalf of Sky Sports as well, Graeme, you're a legend as a player and for me you gave me my start here as a manager and then to carry on working with you.
“Just to be part of your every day and come into work with you and your enthusiasm and love for the game.
“You were a great player, great manager and a great pundit and it's been a pleasure I think you should probably at times maybe sat on the fence a few times!”
Sky Sports Director of Football Gary Hughes said: “We will miss Graeme’s no-nonsense approach in the studio – matched only by his playing style. The insight and winning mentality he brought to our viewers as a result of his years of experience as both a player and a manager has been invaluable to our coverage. We wish him all the best for the future.”
