John Lundstram will be fit for Rangers when they take on Celtic in the Viaplay Cup final at Hampden later this month, manager Michael Beale has confirmed.
The Scouser limped off early in the win over Ross County last weekend and is out of the visit of Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup. The Ibrox side continue the defence of the trophy they won last May when they take on the men from Maryhill on Sunday.
But Beale - still unbeaten as Gers boss - is desperate to get his hands on the other domestic cup competition up for grabs with rivals Celtic standing in their way on February 26. And Lundstram will be fit despite being pictured in a moon boot this week. Beale said: “ John Lundstram won’t be available this weekend and should hopefully be back for the Livingston game. He took a sore one on his ankle. He will definitely be back for the final at the end of the month. Ridvan Yilmaz will be about another three weeks and I’m looking forward to working with him when he returns to full training.
