Rangers injury latest as Connor Goldson and Nicolas Raskin knocks detailed

Michael Beale has provided an update on the fitness of his Rangers squad.

The Light Blues face a tough trip Livingston this weekend as they play their final league game ahead of the League Cup showpiece against Celtic on February 26.

Connor Goldson and Nicolas Raskin have picked up knocks in recent games, Beale revealed when talking to the media. It was said that the latter has not trained since starting against Partick Thistle on Sunday, but will be back in with the first team group tomorrow.

The manager also said that John Lundstram could make it for Saturday, while Ryan Jack also has a minor injury issue.

All players will be assessed for the final time tomorrow, with a decision then made as to whether they can feature against Livi.

He said: "Lundstram touch and go for the weekend, Goldson had a small issue and that is why didn't start last week.

"Raskin had some minor issues after the game, Jack had a minor issue also.

"We will see how we go after training tomorrow. We still have a strong squad available."

Tom Lawrence remains out of the picture at Ibrox still. Beale insists there is no expected date on when the playmaker will return to training as he continues his recovery from a long-term injury.

He added: "Lawrence is a player I have been impressed with in the past Unfortunately, he suffered a long-term injury and he is someone I am really excited to work on when he returns.

"We are hopeful he returns to training in a few weeks, there is no exact timeline on this one."

On the game itself, Beale praised David Martindale for the job he's carried out in West Lothian.

But he was quick to factor in the artificial surface at the Tony Macaroni, insisting that it could make for a difficult afternoon despite their decent record there.

He said: "Our focus is on Saturday, we have a full week of preparation after this. The pitch is difficult, it is a tough place to go but we have had reasonable results there in the past.

"David does a fantastic job and they will be full of confidence.

"We are in a good place compared to where we were a couple of months ago. There are trophies to be won and players' futures to be decided."
