Rangers have been honoured at a 150th anniversary event held by Glasgow City Council.
A civic reception was held in the City Chambers on Wednesday night where 150 players, officials, former players and former directors were invited to the big event. Among those in attendance were manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst and managing director Stewart Robertson as celebrations continue in a big year for those in light blue.
It comes four months after Rangers marked the time in 1872 when the club was formed in the city's west end of the city with a fixture against Aberdeen on March 2nd. Lord Provost of Glasgow Jacqueline McClaren hailed the 'often unrecognised work of the charity'.

She wrote on social media: "Delighted to host Rangers FC at the City Chambers to mark the 150th anniversary of the Club. Great pleasure to see so many famous figures and take the opportunity to pay tribute to their often unrecognised work for charity."
She previously told Scottish Express Sport: “Over the last 150 years, Rangers has been one of the sport’s most storied names. I’m very happy to welcome current players and staff to the City Chambers to mark not only this anniversary but the club’s place in the city’s own history.”
Attentions now turn to Saturday's Premiership opener away at Livingston before a Champions League third round qualifier against Union St Gilloise next week.
