KRIS BOYD today congratulated Celtic on all but sealing the Scottish Premiership title, but quickly quipped he's off to get packing for a trip to Seville.
The former Rangers striker offered praise to Ange Posetcoglou's side who took another step towards the title with a 4-1 win over Hearts, but then shifted focus to Rangers' Europa League final.
Boyd was on the Sky Sports panel covering the Celtic and Hearts clash and conceded the title race is effectively over with Celtic nine points clear and boasting a huge goal difference advantage.
But he couldn't resist referencing Rangers' success in Europe as they head to Seville later this month to take on Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League final.
Boyd said: "There have been big performances throughout the season for Celtic.
"I'd like to congratulate Celtic on winning the league.
"But I'm away to get my passport, my sunglasses and my sombrero looked out and I'll see you all next season."
Rangers take on Dundee United tomorrow knowing if they drop points then the title race will officially be over.
Should Giovanni van Brocnkhorst's side win then the league won't be mathematically be over and will rumble on to the midweek fixtures. However, it would take a major Celtic collapse for Rangers to claim the title.
Rangers instead have the Europa League final and Scottish Cup final to look forward to in a busy month for the club.
