Rangers granted permission to sell alcohol for Spurs & Celtic matches

Rangers have been granted permission to sell alcohol from a marquee before the matches against Tottenham and Celtic.

Alcohol is not permitted to be sold inside Scottish football grounds but Rangers supporters will be able to buy booze from a marquee outside Ibrox for the Europa League and Scottish Premiership ties.

Rangers play Premier League club Spurs on December 12 before hosting Celtic in a derby clash on January 2.

The club has been granted an occasional license for alcohol to be sold from the marquee, positioned in the car park at Edmiston House.

As reported by The Herald, Police Scotland have requested that a maximum of four drinks be served per person during each transaction.

A number of conditions were also tabled as the application went through process of being considered by the city licensing board decision-makers.

Spots in the marquee must be pre-booked with no walk-in availability for the tent which has a 200-person capacity.

The tent will be in use before and after the matches with food available and low-level music to be played.

Rangers previously hosted marquees with alcohol allowed to be sold for the match against Celtic in April.
