Former Queen's Park head coach Laurie Ellis has landed a new role within the academy at Rangers.
The former Raith Rovers player and Dundee United assistant was named Spiders boss last year following their League Two title victory under Ray McKinnon, but was axed in the New Year. Queen's Park eventually went on to achieve Championship promotion and Ellis has been without a club since. Football Scotland report he has been given an 'opportunity' at Rangers where his role will be assisting with 'the vision of providing a pathway for youngsters to make the step up to the B-team and then, ultimately, the first-team.'
Ellis' move to Ibrox comes at a time of coaching hires at the club. City Football Group's Ceri Bowley is also reportedly set to join in a wide-ranging position, with the ex-Queen's boss moving back into the youth field like he was with Scotland's FA as a performance school coach in 2019.

He told Glasgow Live Sport in June about his future plans: "I feel I have a very varied skillset, therefore I have always been open to lots of different things.
"I have had many differing roles in football, working in performance schools all the way through to working with elite first-team players.
"Working across the whole age demographic and completing my UEFA Pro Licence has given me valuable experience and the ability to step into a number of different roles, which makes me look forward to my next challenge."
