Kemar Roofe will not feature in Rangers ' Champions League squad this season.
The frontman hasn't appeared for Gio van Bronckhorst' s side since May when he came off the bench during the Europa League Final against Eintracht Frankfurt. The 29-year-old had been injured prior to the tie after picking up a knock against Braga in the semi-final of the competition. And, unfortunately for the striker, pre-season saw him aggravate his injury meaning that he has failed to make an appearance in Light Blue so far this term.
The striker recently shared a snap on social media hinting he is making a return to training but his return to game-time action is yet to come. And now the Jamaica international will be sitting on the sidelines some more during the upcoming Champions League group stage matches where Rangers take on Liverpool, Napoli and Ajax in the coming weeks.
Filip Helander will also sit the competition's group stage matches out, having now played since back in April. Winger Ianis Hagi is also missing as he continues his rehab following a long term injury.
However, there is space for Alfredo Morelos despite issues with boss Gio van Bronckhorst in recent weeks. The frontman's discipline has been questioned, but he does take his place in the squad. And there is also room for Tom Lawrence, who is currently sidelined.
