It's been a long time but boy has it been worth the wait. When that Zadok the Priest Champions League theme tune is blaring out as Rangers line up against Ajax on September 7 then they will really feel like that journey back from the bottom tier of Scottish football has been completed.
The Ibrox legions have been waiting with their diaries at the ready following Thursday's Champions League draw which pitched Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men in Group A alongside last season's runners-up Liverpool, Ajax and Napoli.
And now the scramble for tickets and flights can commence as UEFA confirmed the dates. Rangers will kick off away the Eredivisie champions before welcoming Napoli to Ibrox, followed by a double header against Liverpool, firstly at Anfield. Then it's off to Naples for Van Bronckhorst's side before they conclude their group campaign at home to Ajax.
