Rangers boss Michael Beale 'one of the best' as Aberdeen star Ross McCrorie delivers insight

Ross McCrorie has hailed Michael Beale as 'one of the best' he's had in the game as Aberdeen get ready to lock horns with Rangers and their new boss.

The Light Blues make the trip to Pittodrie tomorrow night under the lights as they bid to make it back to back wins under the new gaffer. They came out on top in a rollercoaster night at Ibrox last week to win 3-2 with Alfredo Morelos netting the winner in the comeback win. Celtic needed a last-gasp Callum McGregor strike to defeat Jim Goodwin's men on the same ground at the weekend, with Rangers next in town.

McCrorie was on the books at Ibrox during Beale's time under Steven Gerrard at the club and he says he improved not only himself but a number of the players during his first stint in Glasgow. He's hailed the 42-year-old for his man-management over training and tactics while he makes sure to simplify everything he wants of his players. Speaking ahead of the Premiership meeting tomorrow night, the Aberdeen man said: “It’s another big team coming. Rangers have got a new gaffer so they’ll have a wee bounce in their step.

"They obviously got a good result the other night so they’ll have a different style I’d imagine with Michael Beale coming in. It’s something we need to look at and we’ll analyse their game against Hibs and see where we can hurt them."

Asked if he might have a bit of inside knowledge on how his old club and how they might set up, he added: “Kind of but I think he’ll have different ideas. It’s been a couple of years now so I’d imagine some of his ideas might have evolved.

"I’ve got a good idea but it doesn’t count for anything. Michael Beale is a really good coach, probably one of the best I’ve had in the game. I wish him all the best but hopefully we come out on top on Tuesday.

"He just simplifies everything and his man-management in the way his training and tactics are. He covered a lot of small details which I hadn’t really had before. He didn’t just improve me, he improved a whole load of boys. Obviously Rangers went unbeaten that season.”
