Rangers boss confirms star he wants to play during Scottish Cup final with Hearts

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has confirmed he will look to give Uddingston's Alex Lowry a chance in today's Scottish Cup final against Hearts.

The 18-year-old midfielder made his debut and scored in this competition way back in January against Stirling Albion.

He's gone from strength to strength since and has made a handful of appearances and squads after the New Year.

It culminated in a new contract until 2025 earlier this month and a spot in Wednesday's Europa League final squad.

That ended in heartbreak though as Rangers lost on penalty kicks to Eintracht Frankfurt.

There's a chance to ease that pain with Scottish Cup glory though and van Bronckhorst intends to use the Lanarkshire star if the opportunity presents itself.

He said: "Alex (Lowry) is a big talent for us, he will be in the squad and can hopefully play a part in this game.

"It will be great to see him develop moving forward. We have a very important game and I have full confidence my team will be ready."
