Rangers have joined rivals Celtic in the hunt for Cardiff starlet Japhet Matondo, according to reports.
The 16-year-old has also caught the eye of English Premier League outfit Leeds United, who are battling for their top flight survival going into the final game of the campaign.
But Football Scotland claims that Rangers have taken a look at the youngster as they bid to strengthen their academy side next season.

They report that he would be available for around £130K due to cross-border compensation and that the Ibrox men see serious value in the talented teen.
Celtic have previously stated an interest in the versatile starlet but it is believed Rangers could now look to hijack any potential move made by their city rivals.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men are back in action tomorrow as they bid to put their Europa League final disappointment behind them against Hearts in the Scottish Cup.
Frankfurt defeated Rangers 5-4 on penalties in Seville on Wednesday night in heartbreaking circumstances.
But now the Ibrox men will need to dust themselves down as they bid to end the season on a high and with a trophy in the cabinet.
Speaking after Wednesday's defeat, Van Bronckhorst said: "Of course, I'm very disappointed because you play the final, you're very close to winning silverware.
"When you don't win, the emotions go from possibly high to very low - I've had those moments in my career, losing big games, losing the World Cup Final - it hurts.
"For us it's now to look ahead and although it feels a little bit difficult - we have to make sure we are ready for Saturday, a big game again against Hearts for the Cup."
