Rangers 2 Celtic 2 as Ryan Kent and Fashion Sakala show up in Old Firm derby - 3 things we learned

Rangers remain nine points behind Celtic at the Premiership summit after Kyogo Furuhashi's late Ibrox leveller.

Daizen Maeda pounced on a slack Alfredo Morelos pass before skipping past James Tavernier and Connor Goldson to fire a low opener beyond Allan McGrego r after just five minutes. The home side struggled to get into the game in the first period and at one point it looked like the champions would be going 12 points clear at the top but an inspired home side emerged for the second half and turned the game on its head inside six minutes to spark real life into the derby.

Fashion Sakala - who caused Celtic issues throughout the game with his direct running and pace - set up Ryan Kent to curl a brilliant leveller beyond Joe Hart before the attacker won a penalty from Carl Starfelt that skipper Tavernier smashed high into the net. But there was late drama still to come as the Hoops' top goalscorer had the final say on derby day as he fired home a leveller as the derby ended in a four-goal share of the spoils. Here's three things we learned from the Old Firm showdown.

Derby bow

It was the first Old Firm derby as Rangers manager for Michael Beale and it will be one that he won't forget.

His side fell behind with just five minutes on the clock after sloppy play in the middle of the park.

But his half-time team talk seemed to do the trick as his side came out flying in the second period.

Two goals in the space of six minutes turned the game on its head. But a late leveller denied him a first win over the Hoops.

The result leaves the Light Blues nine points behind Celtic in the title race.

Flyin' Ryan

Ryan Kent is often looked to as the man to produce on the big occasion and he has eventually arrived this season.

A £7millon purchase and key player for the Ibrox men.

He is out of contract in the summer and yet to pen a new deal but if he can get his numbers up and performances to a consistent level then the Light Blues could face a fight to keep him.

A big moment delivered by the attacker for Michael Beale as he curled a stunning leveller beyond Joe Hart.

Beale will hope the former Liverpool man can produce regularly between now and the end of the season.

Fashion show

What a performance from Fashion Sakala.

He's been reborn under Michael Beale and once again showed his importance in the new regime.

Looked a major threat every time he got the ball and was the man to spark the comeback with an assist for Ryan Kent's leveller and won the penalty that James Tavernier converted.

Star of the show for the Ibrox side.
