The Rams have already lost one coach to the Patriots this offseason and they could be in danger of losing a second. According to the Boston Herald, Rams tight ends coach Nick Caley is the first finalist for the Patriots’ offensive coordinator job.
He’s already had two interviews with New England, including an in-person one in Foxborough, just as new Patriots special teams coordinator Jeremy Springer did. According to the Herald, the only other candidate to interview in-person was former Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy.
Besides Caley and Getsy, there are only four other candidates for the position out of the 11 who started the process; five have since landed jobs elsewhere.
The Rams hired Caley as their tight ends coach last year after he held the same position with the Patriots from 2017-2022. He began his coaching career in the NFL with New England in 2015 as an offensive assistant on Bill Belichick’s staff.
