JAIPUR: A brawl broke out between two groups following a row between a shopkeeper and a hawker in the Ramganj area on Friday. The members of the two groups also pelted stones.
DCP (North) Paris Deshmukh said some people sustained injuries in the stone-pelting incident and they were taken for medical examination.
According to Deshmukh, the incident took place when a shopkeeper objected to a hawker putting a pushcart in front of his shop. Police said the two groups belonged to the same community.
The incident sparked a noisy quarrel between the two which soon turned violent. More people joined in, and the two groups fought with each other and pelted stones, few also targeted a few vehicles parked in the area. The Ramganj police also rounded up a few suspects in the case. Additional police forces were also deployed in the area to control the situation from escalating. The Jaipur police said the law and order situation was under control and no fresh incident of violence was reported.
