Ram Navami procession in state can be held till 10pm

RANCHI: The state government on Thursday evening issued an order extending the deadline of Ram Navami procession from 6 pm to 10 pm following demand of socio-religious groups. The notification read, “The religious processions shall conclude not later than 10 pm.”

While thanking the administration for the relaxation, president of Mahaveer Mandal, Ajay Singh Yadav, said the processions would be taken out according to the new guidelines. “The practice of showering flower petals from helicopters on the processions crossing the Mahatma Gandhi Road in Ranchi city should be restored.”

Secretary of the organisation, Deepak Ojha, said in case of any incident, the administration should register FIRs mentioning the names of individuals instead of just saying that two groups were involved.
