Ralf Rangnick says Chris Armas is a "very helpful" individual to have on board at Manchester United - despite complaints from some Red Devils players.
Armas has never coached outside of North America prior to joining Man United and eyebrows were raised when he arrived at the Red Devils' Carrington training base shortly after Rangnick's appointment.
An MLS-based source told the MEN at the time that they thought 'someone was playing a joke on them' as it was a 'strange decision to hire someone who has done so poorly' in the United States.
Armas' last coaching job before he was named Rangnick's number two at Man United ended with him being sacked by Toronto FC after winning only two of his 15 games in charge.

According to ESPN, some United stars are baffled by how much influence Armas appears to have in training with Rangnick allegedly delegating large chunks of sessions to the 49-year-old.
The report adds that this has led to some Manchester United stars referring to Armas as Ted Lasso - a fictional NFL coach hired by an English football side to lead them to success.
But despite the apparent confusion within the United dressing room, and the suggestion Armas isn't rated highly by everyone at Old Trafford, Rangnick is a keen supporter of the coach.
Discussing the impact Armas has had at United, Rangick explained he has been very helpful.
"We haven't worked together before that, the same is true with Ewan Sharp but with Chris Armas, we knew each other from our mutual time with Red Bull when he was head coach and assistant coach with New York Red Bulls," said Rangnick.
"He's very helpful, not only very loyal but also very helpful and it's very helpful he's a native speaker.
"He knows how to communicate with players and he also had a high level of respect now from the players, they know that he's a good guy and also a good expert in different areas. I'm very happy to have him on board."
