Ralf Rangnick issues statement confirming Austria and Manchester United roles

Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has confirmed he is taking over as coach of the Austria national team.

It emerged on Thursday night the Austrian football association had made an offer to Rangnick but he refused to respond to the reports after United's 1-1 draw with Chelsea.

Rangnick said in a statement: “I will take over as national team manager of Austria at the end of the season but will continue my consultancy with Manchester United.
