We may complain about them from the moment we wake up till the end of the day, but we gotta admit, there is something very unique, raw and real about the bond between a sister and her brother. They might seem like pulling each other's legs at one time, and could be seen having the deepest conversation ever in another moment. This relationship is truly one of a kind and deserves to be celebrated.
This year, Raksha Bandhan, the hindu festival which celebrates the bond of love and protection between a brother and sister, is being celebrated on 11th August 2022. The Purnima Tithi will begin at 10:38 am on 11 August and end at 7:05 am on 12th August. The word 'Raksha' means safety and 'Bandhan' means bond. This bond is signified by the sister tying a rakhi on her brother's wrist. Along with a rakhi, they also exchange gifts and the brother gives some token money to his sister which is called a shagun. This is followed by eating sweets and delicacies, and spending quality time with your siblings and cousins.
