The auspicious festival of Raksha Bandhan, popularly known as Rakhi, is observed every year during the full moon, or Purnima Tithi, in the Hindu month of Shravana. The festival celebrates the special bond of love, affection and togetherness shared between siblings. According to Drik Panchang, the timing of Bhadra is an important consideration while observing Raksha Bandhan. While rituals traditionally favour tying the Rakhi during the Purnima period, it is considered inauspicious to perform the ceremony during Bhadra.
