Every year around this time, the same question starts doing the rounds, in family WhatsApp groups, in office cafeterias, on Google. When exactly is Rakhi this year? This year, the Purnima tithi for Raksha Bandhan actually stretches across two calendar dates in 2026, which is why you might see both August 27 and August 28 floating around online. Raksha Bandhan 2026 will be celebrated on Friday, August 28. That's the date recognised across India, and it's the one you should mark on your calendar.
