Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has approved the transfer of technology for all conventional missile systems developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to Indian defence companies for domestic production, the Ministry of Defence said on Tuesday.
The move is aimed at expanding the role of Indian industry in the defence manufacturing ecosystem and accelerating the shift of missile systems from development to industrial-scale production within the country.
