KOTA: A 17-year-old girl was repeatedly raped and sexually exploited by her 35-year-old drunken stepfather, who had given life threat to the minor survivor and her mother if they divulged the matter to anyone.
The mother-daughter duo somehow mustered courage to reach RK Puram police station following which the police lodged a case against accused stepfather under sections of IPC and POCSO Act and produced the girl before Child Welfare Committee (CWC) on late on Thursday night that ordered to send the minor to shelter home.
"The minor was produced before CWC. During initial counselling, she alleged repeated rape and sexual exploitation by her stepfather in inebriated condition," said CWC member Vimal Jain. The minor survivor alleged that her stepfather, an alcoholic, had been repeatedly raping and sexually exploiting her for last 4-5 years in inebriated condition, he said. She added that when she narrated her ordeal to her mother, who confronted her stepfather, he thrashed her severely and threatened to kill both of them if they dared to disclose the act to someone.
"The minor alleged that the accused stepfather, a daily wage labourer, mostly reached home in inebriated condition. On a few occasions, he thrashed her mother so severely that once she sustained arm bone fracture," CWC member Jain said. The accused on Wednesday night this week also attempted to sexually exploit the minor but she along with her mother resisted the act and reached the police station on Thursday evening to lodge a case against the accused, Jain said.
