Rajasthan: Covid positivity rate dips below 1% in 7 days

JAIPUR: The weekly positivity rate in the state has gone below 1% as Covid cases are continuously reducing at rapid pace.

For the 7th consecutive week, the cases in the state have reduced. In the past seven days, 1,190 persons were tested positive for Covid, which are lowest number of cases reported in a week starting from January 1 in 2022.

The overall tally of Covid cases in the state rose to 12,82,066 as 163 persons were tested positive for Covid in the past 24 hours. However, no death was reported. The toll stands at 9,548.

The active cases in the state have increased slightly from 1,273 to 1,292. In Jaipur too, the active cases have increased marginally from 611 to 659.

In the past seven days, state reported eight Covid deaths, with a mortality rate of 0.67%.

Health department officials said that though the cases have been reducing they have been conducting Covid surveillance by doing testing.

In past seven day, the number of samples collected for Covid testing was 1.49 lakh, out of those 1,190 were tested positive and 1,48,686 were tested negative for Covid, which shows that the pace at which the virus was spreading earlier in January has reduced drastically.
