JAIPUR: In 19 districts of the state, the Covid active cases have now gone below 500-mark.The number of active cases in the state, which had touched peak on January 26,on that day, state had 94,148 active cases, have now reduced to 23,404 in 17days.
The Covid pandemic situation has improved in the state as in 17 days, the active cases have decreased by 75%.
The active cases in the state decreased by 9% from25,779 to 23,404 in 24 hours. For the 9th consecutive day, the state witnessed decrease in active cases. Active cases in Jaipur have decreased from 6,618 to 6,412 in 24 hours. The state reported 2,606 new covid-19 cases in 24hours bringing its overall tally to 12,63,606. Eight persons died too, taking the toll to 9,456.
For the second consecutive day, the state has witnessed less than 10 deaths. In 24 hours, two deaths each were reported from Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, while one death each was reported from Barmer and Bundi.
A health department official said that they are still collecting samples for Covid testing in sufficient numbers to keep surveillance on covid-19 pandemic situation. The positivity rate in the state has also gone down significantly. Across the state, 41,901 samples were collected for Covid testing on Saturday. The positivity rate remained at 6.21%,which was over 15% a few days ago. In February (1-12), the state has reported 188 Covid deaths.
