JAIPUR: The state reported 6,212 new Covid cases in 24 hours taking the overall tally to 12,12,633. Twenty persons died too, taking the toll to 9,288.
The active cases in the state decreased from 67,017 to 63,036. Jaipur reported 1,230 Covid cases. Active cases in Jaipur have decreased from 16,739 to 15,549 in 24 hours.
Four deaths were reported from Jaipur, two deaths each from Nagaur, Pali, Sikar, Udaipur, Karauli, and one death each was reported from Banswara, Chittorgarh, Dausa, Jhunjhunu, Sirohi and Tonk.
For the ninth straight day, the state reported more than 20 covid deaths. In the past nine days, 193 persons died of the virus. For the sixth day in a row, active cases have decreased. On January 26, active cases in the state were 94,148, but in the next six days, it came down to 63,036. In all, 10,173 persons were recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. The number of persons who recovered from the ailment were more than the number of persons infected with the virus on Tuesday.
A health department official said they are focusing on Covid vaccination. The number of persons vaccinated with the first dose have increased to 4.96 crore, while those have have received the second dose rose to 4.01 crore.
