JAIPUR: To reduce accident response time on national highways of Rajasthan, the state transport department is working towards connecting 108 ambulance service with 1033, the helpline number of National Highways Authority of India.
Officials said that less than 3% of the roads in the state fall under national highways, but 36% of accident fatalities are reported from these roads. They said that by joining the helpline number with the ambulance service, response time for accident victims can be reduced as then the state will have close to 800 ambulances available with them.
