Raith Rovers and Hamilton played out a 0-0 Championship draw at Stark's Park as defences came out on top.
David Moyo missed a big Accies chance towards the end of the first half as they created the most clear opportunities on a blustery Kirkcaldy afternoon.
Goalkeeper Joe Hilton made a big stop at the second half's start to preserve Hamilton's clean sheet before Mihai Popescu miss a glaring chance at the other end.
The away side were without head coach Stuart Taylor for the match, who was put into self-isolation before kick-off, with assistant John Rankin taking charge.
Taylor's side are sixth in the Championship while Raith sit fourth.
Hamilton made two changes from the side which drew with Ayr United last time out in Championship action, Ronan Hughes dropping out the XI, along with Lewis Smith. Scott Martin and Andy Ryan came in.
Their trip to Kirkcaldy came off a week of turmoil at Raith. After signing David Goodwillie from Clyde - who was ruled to have raped a woman in a civil court ruling in 2017 - fury ensued.
The club were condemned for their decision to sign him and for doubling down on their stance, before eventually announcing Goodwillie would not play for the club prior to this match.
It set a subdued mood at Stark's Park but the home side's fans clapped on their players who ultimately had a game of football to focus on.
They started the brighter, albeit there were next to no attacking chances in the first 20 minutes. On the seventh minute, Accies striker Moyo took once to the face from an Aidan Connolly free-kick.
Then Dan O'Reilly had to avert danger when Rovers pressed again a minute later. But that's all they created, despite holding much of possession.
Accies meanwhile were more purposeful in their attacking play and had three good chances in the space of three minutes thwarted by home goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald.
Josh Mullin showed some nice feet on 20 minutes to muster a shot at goal, which was well-palmed away. Then a corner from Reegan Mimnaugh two minutes later led to a Jamie Hamilton effort, and Moyo couldn't convert the rebound as MacDonald stood tall.
Kai Kennedy then created another Hamilton chance on 29 minutes but it eventually came to nothing. Rovers proved their attacking ability on 32 minutes though as Ethan Ross broke at speed before his end product was lacking.
Moyo missed an even bigger chance on 35 minutes, his free header from five yards out off a Mullin corner was into the ground and wide.
Connolly almost made him on 40 minutes with a shot inside the box but it was eventually blocked and danger was cleared. Ross would go close again before the interval and his 43rd minute effort zipped high and past the post.
Hamilton would have Hilton to thank for it not being 1-0 Raith 48 minutes in. A cross from the right was deflected and brilliantly stopped by the Blackburn loanee at point-blank range.
The second half had taken on a similar look to the 45 minutes before it - back and forth but mainly scrappy in nature. Neither side had a foothold in the game.
There were through balls and forays into the opposition box, but nothing substantial was coming off, despite O'Reilly's best efforts with a Hamilton header on 64 minutes.
Popescu though really should have netted for Taylor's men on 65 minutes in a chance similar to Moyo's miss. It was a free header over the bar from five yards out.
Ryan then missed another Hamilton chance on 72 minutes and his cross for Marley Redfern on 76 minutes was too high after a good run.
Sam Stanton missed the final Rovers chance with two minutes to go before teammate Reghan Tumility was booked for diving in search of a penalty when the clock struck 90 minutes.
