RAIPUR: Emphasizing the need for modern education for everyone, Assam’s school education minister Ranoj Pegu said that all madarsas in Assam have been “converted into modern schools”.
Pegu, who was in Raipur to study the working of the first Sainik School of Chhattisgarh being run on PPP model, said modern subjects are being taught at these schools and nothing other than NCERT books is followed there. “Moreover, we have ensured no religious subjects are taught to students in these schools,” the Assam minister told TOI.
