Following intense rains in Hyderabad and other areas of Telangana on Tuesday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert in parts of state until May 11.
According to an IMD release, on Thursday, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are expected in isolated locations in Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Yadadri Bhongir, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy. On Friday, the alert extends to Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal and Jangaon districts of Telangana.
Over the next 48 hours, Hyderabad and its neighbourhood can expect a generally cloudy sky, with light to moderate rains or thundershowers likely in parts of the city. Maximum and minimum temperatures are anticipated to range around 38° and 24°, respectively, as per the release.
According to IMD’s weather information, in the last 24 hours, Patancheru recorded 62.6 mm ranifall followed by 62.1 mm in Hyderabad, 32.8 in Dundigal and 27 mm in Rajendra Nagar.
