Rain and thunderstorm warnings issued for parts of UK ahead of weekend heatwave

The UK is set for a week of contrasting weather, with immediate warnings for thunderstorms and heavy rain preceding a potential return to 30C temperatures by the weekend.

A yellow rain warning is in effect for central Scotland from 2pm until 9pm on Tuesday, as the risk of temporary flooding is raised.
