The Raiders went 5-4 with Pierce as their interim head coach last season, finishing the year with a win over the Broncos. The Raiders made a huge leap on defense once Pierce took over and the fact that he got so much support from the players in the locker room is a good sign for his potential success.
The Raiders did hold some other interviews for their head coaching gig, but it felt inevitable that Pierce would get the job. While it’s not official, fans of the Raiders can rest easy knowing that Pierce will be their next head coach.
