The Raiders have a new quarterback. There has been a ton of speculation over the last few weeks about what the Raiders will do at that position, but they were aggressive on the first day of the “legal tampering” window in free agency, landing a potential upgrade.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Raiders have agreed to terms with Gardner Minshew on a two-year deal. Minshew will now compete with Aidan O’Connell for the starting job.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, the deal includes $15 million guaranteed over the next two years. While that isn’t a ton of money, it does mean Minshew will likely get a shot at starting.
Minshew started 13 games for the Colts last season, going 7-6 as a starter. He completed 62.2 percent of his passes and averaged 6.7 yards per attempt. While he certainly isn’t a long-term option, he gives the Raiders a solid option for the short term.
