Raiders grab elite offensive tackle prospect in latest NFL Mock Draft

Now that the Raiders have officially announced that Antonio Pierce is the new head coach, he has to build an offensive staff. Regardless of who is coaching the offense, one of the goals for Pierce will be to improve the offensive line.

The Raiders got good play from their offensive line, but that group had several again veterans that might not return in 2024. Getting younger and more physical will certainly be a priority for Pierce.

In a recent mock draft by Bucky Brooks of NFL.com, he had the Raiders selecting Oregon State offensive tackle Taliese Fuaga at pick No. 14. Here is what Brooks had to say about the Pac-12 star:

Beefing up the offensive line is a top priority for a team that wants to control the trenches. Fuaga is a mauler/brawler with the size, strength and nastiness to help the Raiders dominate the point of attack.

Fuaga is a massive right tackle who can dominate in the run game. The Raiders could use a long-term bookend to pair with Kolton Miller, who has developed into one of the best left tackles in all of the NFL.

What makes this pick interesting is the development of Thayer Munford, who played really well down the stretch for Las Vegas. Do the Raiders really need to invest in another top-15 pick at offensive tackle or has Munford done enough to warrant a longer look?

Fuaga is certainly worthy of that selection, but time will tell if he is on the short list of options for the Raiders at No. 14
