Raiders bring back FB Jakob Johnson on one-year deal

After a flurry of moves on Tuesday, the Raiders did some work retaining their own. Not only did they agree to a one-year deal with offensive tackle Brandon Parker, but they signed another key piece of their offense.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the Raiders have signed fullback Jakob Johnson to a one-year deal. Johnson signed with the Raiders as a free agent last offseason and played all 17 games for the Raiders.

Johnson played 301 snaps on offense for the Raiders and saw 151 special teams snaps. With the Raiders likely playing more under center in 2023, Johnson could see an even bigger role in Las Vegas.

Johnson has appeared in 54 total games in his NFL career playing for both the Patriots and the Raiders. He was another player brought over from New England given his ties to Dave Ziegler. Don’t be surprised to see even more former Patriots join the Raiders in free agency over the upcoming days.
