Raheem Sterling has revealed he had to leave Manchester City for Chelsea because he "couldn’t afford to waste more time”.
The England star won four Premier League titles after joining City from Liverpool in 2015 and has made more appearances for the club under Pep Guardiola than any other player. But Sterling, 27, lost his place in City’s first-choice under Pep Guardiola for the big matches in the Premier League and Champions League.
And he said he tried to change the view of the City before agreeing to the £47.5m transfer to West London. "As a person, you always strive to achieve stuff,” he said.
