Chelsea are ready to make an offer for Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling, football.london understands. There is confidence from both clubs that a deal can be struck for the 27-year-old as the Blues prepare to make a statement signing.
Sterling has just 12 months remaining on his contract at the Etihad Stadium and while City would like him to stay, there is an acceptance that he could call time on his seven-year spell. Chelsea are hopeful of reaching an agreement of around £45million with the Premier League champions for Sterling's services.
The Blues have made Sterling their top attacking target this summer as Thomas Tuchel looks to solve his side's woes in front of goal. Sterling, who has scored 108 Premier League goals for Liverpool and then Man City, is seen as someone who can help in the final third.
