Philippe Clement is demanding answers after being left perplexed at referee John Beaton's failure to award Rangers a penalty during their Scottish League Cup final loss to Celtic.
Speaking to Premier Sports, the Rangers manager said: "There was also a penalty situation on Cerny, so it's a weird one that the referee at least has not been asked to watch the monitor, because we get a free-kick on the edge of the box, but his foot is on the line.
"It's a clear penalty, I think, and it's at least a discussion for the referee to make. So, it's a crucial moment, of course, in the game that you don't get.
"It's a lot in one game but I am very proud for how my players showed today after a big European night on Thursday where they lost a lot of energy. Showing this energy again and even more today, creating so many chances, scoring three really good goals, so we need to continue what we've been doing."
Asked if he had been able to get any clarification on the officials reasoning to not award Rangers' Vaclav Cerny a penalty following a clear foul by Celtic substitute Liam Scales, Clement replied: "Yes, we had a short talk about that and they didn't get any contact from the VAR to watch the image. So, that's something that people from outside will need to discuss and take a look at, I think. Why was there no communication about that situation?
"But I am going to be focused on my team and what we need to do for the next weeks and next months to become better and better again."
