Rafael Nadal, the 22-time Grand Slam singles champion, has made the decision to skip this year's US Open, citing his inability to give his best performance. Nadal expressed his fondness for the tournament and the special atmosphere of the night sessions at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City.

Instead of participating in the US Open, Nadal revealed that his next event will be the Laver Cup in Berlin, scheduled for September 20-22. The Laver Cup may potentially mark the end of Nadal's illustrious tennis career, similar to his longtime rival Roger Federer's retirement in 2022.
