SAVVY VICTORY is the smart choice in the British Stallion Studs EBF 'High-Rise' Maiden Stakes (3.50) at Pontefract.
Tom Marquand's mount has hinted at his winning potential in several races to date. On his second career start last September, the son of New Bay belied his huge starting price to finish a half-length second at Doncaster. The well-regarded third, Frantastic, came out and won his next start cosily in the Derby-winning colours of Anthony Oppenheimer.
Savvy Victory holds an entry in the Epsom Classic himself, which shows the regard connections hold him in. He bumped into potentially smart Antarah last time at Newcastle, before his winter break. Experience of different surfaces, plus a winner for trainer Sean Woods from just six runners in the past fortnight, are other positives.
