LINGFIELD 11.40

PERSHALLA (system – Amanda Perrett, second time out 2yos, AW)

Amanda Perrett has a solid record with juveniles on the all-weather who here having their second career outing, scoring with 19 of the 95 qualifiers for a profit of £90.01 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 9.85, A/E = 1.93). Twenty-eight of the beaten horses also made the frame, often at big prices, and an each-way approach could pay dividends where PERHSALLA is concerned in this 1m restricted novice contest. FAKENHAM 1.25

Last-time out hurdle winners do well when bidding to follow up in a handicap hurdle within a week of their victory and, since the start of 2012, those who were ranked in the top two on Proform’s last time out speed ratings were 230 from 491 (46.8% strike-rate) for a profit of £76.94 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 192.33, A/E = 1.20, not including two winners from two qualifiers on this system yesterday). The James Owen-trained LASER FOCUS won’t be much of a price but bolted up at Huntingdon seven days ago and can follow up.

CARLISLE 2.40

BRIDGE COURT (system – Sandy Thomson, second run for the yard)

Sandy Thomson has a fine record at the second time of asking with horses he acquires from other trainers, scoring with 16 of the 62 qualifiers since the beginning of 2017 for a profit of £102.13 to a £1 level stake at SP.
